I love roses. I love how they seem sooo small and contained, then when it’s juuust right, they burst into a flurry of colour. There are so many varieties that you can’t count them and they come in lots and lots and lots of different colours!!! I love them!!
This one is one of my favourite combinations of colour in a rose – it just looks so warm.
Here I have used: Cameo Coral, More Mustard, Tangerine Tango and a touch of Ruby Red (all from ink pads) to colour the rose on watercolour paper with an aqua painter. This is after I have embossed the rose from 5th Avenue Floral in white.
The background is an old favourite – Baroque Motifs on Cameo Coral. She is then matted on Black and Kiwi Kiss. The ribbon is one of this years In Colour range in Kiwi Kiss.
I’ll let you in on a little secret… The black strip is Faux Velvet. To create this look, take a strip of cardstock and run it over the edge of the table all the way the ends. You will need to do this quite a few times, and don’t forget to turn it over and do it on the other side. Take one end and separate the front and back of the cardstock from each other – take care and if it starts to tear, you haven’t taken it over the edge (so to speak!) enough times. Easy!
I think she is just beautiful – I can almost smell her!
The Summer Mini catalogue finishes at the end of this month – along with Sale-a-Bration. So if you want your free stamp sets, make sure you order before March 31!
The mini has a wonderful set of Designer Series Paper (or DSP) called Kaleidoscope. The colours are warm and designs very “summery”, if that be a word!
I made the following Gift Box using the DSP on the lid and included five Fresh Cuts Note Cards – a perfect gift!
The colours are Tempting Turquoise and Pumpkin Pie, which is great example of how different colour families can be used together as one is Bold Brights and the other Earth Elements. All the cardstock, ink and ribbon used are in these two colours, and don’t forget our beautiful sparkling clear Rhinestone Brads to feature…
What do you think? would you like a class on this one??

Hi there!
So, I didn’t make yesterday’s posting deadline, but I wasn’t feeling the greatest. I even cancelled our Stamp-a-Stack for the afternoon .
Well here we are, fast approaching Easter celebrations, and of course the chocolate invasion begins. Wouldn’t it be nice to have the chocolate that you love, wrapped with individual flair?
Well look no further, Pull Treats are here!!
This delicious little wrapping is around a large block of Cadbury’s “Dream White Chocolate”.

It is finished using the Raspberry Tart DSP available in the main Idea Book & Catalogue, stamped with the Inspired by Nature stamp set using Stampin’ Write Markers-direct-to-rubber and finished with the Rose Red Double stitched grosgrain ribbon. Oh, I can’t forget -Dazzling Diamonds!!
It also uses the horizontal slot punch and that wonderful combination of the large and scalloped oval punches.
This was actually one of the giveaways at our recent Sale-a-Bration Spectacular and to access the goodies, our winner only had to pull up the ribbon.
If you would like to learn how to make these, I am hosting a class featuring these on Wednesday 17th March at 7.30pm. This class will also have a four cards to coincide with our Easter theme. The cost is $20 and includes your chocolate!!
RSVP’s will close on Friday 12th March to allow for product ordering. Book your place now as spaces will be limited to 6 people. Email me now by clicking here to book.
I hope to see you then!

This little piece of wrapping was to enclose a pack of rub-ons for my last Secret Sister. I have to say, it was hard to let the rub-ons go – I wanted to keep them once they were here. The packaging makes them quite a challenge – almost too big for a 12×12 piece of cardstock!
Along came the art of improvisation… For this piece I have stuck to the same Earthy colour scheme as for the young lass in the previous post. I have used some DSP from Sweet Always to punch out the butterflies using the punch available in the Summer Mini Catalogue, then coated the pieces in Crystal Effects.
The background is the jumbo Stampin’ Around wheel It’s Beautiful, and the butterflies in Pumpkin Pie are from Butterfly Prints (Summer Mini Catalogue).
I have used a “double-scallop edge” for the front panel and you will notice the sentiment is mounted on a scalloped oval? That’s because it was soooo popular in the 2009 Spring Mini Catalogue, Stampin’ Up! have already decided to keep it!
I must confess the glorious Chocolate Chip Satin ribbon is long retired, however I can’t bear to not use it on special items.
If you like any of the items available in these images, including the punches, send an email to: lisa@lisaryder.com.au or call me on 0413 847 988.
Until Saturday, happy stamping!

It has been a very long time since I’ve added anything here and have been told by a friend that I’m very naughty… Nothing like good friends to pull you into gear! So I make it my mission to post here every second day for three weeks – I have plenty to share!

Firstly here is my secret sisters’ final card for the last round which finished at the end of December. It’s a pop up card, but when I came across it just recently, I was quite taken with the card front. I might have to recreate this one for myself.
It is again with the “A Kind Word” stamp set. I just love this little Holly Hobby look-a-like. It’s perfect for gently watercolouring. The colours are from the Earth Elements family:
Cardstock: Old Olive, Really Rust, Summer Sun, Pumpkin Pie, Watercolour Paper
Ink: Stampin’ Write Markers in a range of colours including Pumpkin Pie and Old Olive for the sentiment, Ruby Red stamp pad for the background on the Really Rust matting.
Stamps: A Kind Word, Oval All (from Spring Mini Catalogue)
Accessories: Large Oval Punch, Scallop Oval Punch, Earth Elements brads. The Five Petal Flower punch and Butterfly punch(Summer Mini) are both used inside.
The next two photos show you the inside. Notice the flowers have “sparkly stamens”? Easily achieved by dunking a Stampin’ Dimensional into your Dazzling Diamonds!

Bye for now – see you Thursday!!

Hello again! Some wonderful news to share with you! Stampin’ Up! are having an Inventory Sale! There are some AMAZING savings to be had… but more on that in a moment.
We had a special friend turn four last Friday and her birthday card had to be special. I was shown a wonderful piece of punch art of a sparkly ballerina. Perfect! I owe this to the lovely Clare McIlhatton with whom I have had the recent pleasure of becoming friends with. She is wonderfully clever and such an effervecent person. If you have the chance check her website HERE.
I have to apologise for the photography – I made the card and photographed it in record time. She is made using Sweet Always DSP, Regal Rose, Whisper White, Blush Blossom, Vellum and Close to Cocoa cardstock. The sparkles come from the SupaNova glitter and I used markers to draw in her face (including some wonky eyes…). To highlight the ballerina the card was kept very simple. Probably too simple, so I wish I had my time over again to build her something a little more spectacular.
I think I might play with her a little more. Practice makes Perfect, right?
So, what of some amazing savings from Stampin’ Up!? Well from now until 24th January, you can save on select stamp sets and embellishments. And not just $5 to $10 savings… Big Deal Alphabet is normally $77.95 is now $38.98 – that’s 50% off! Click here for the comprehensive Inventory Clearance List!
If you wanted anything that’s listed, please contact me as soon as possible – as with any great sale there are limited quantities.
Cheers,

Here are some wonderful gifts I have received from my ESAD Secret Sister. I still don’t know who she is, so as soon as I find out, I’ll let you know and if she has a blog/website, I’ll add it to my sidebar.
Don’t you love the little Frankenstein bags? They were for my boys who thought they were fantastic, but NOT as much as Evelyn thought her little bag was divine! She put it straight over her little wrist and started prancing around the house….You’d never know she was only just 1yo at the time.
I love how my SS has used the Haiku DSP on Evie’s bag. The letter “E” on it comes from the Lovely Letters Alphabet Set from the main catalogue. I don’t have it but I think I might just get it. It would be lovely highlighted on some scrapbooking and just gorgeous embossed.

This next photo is my November gift. Notice the pull-treat (top right with the butterflies) is lacking contents? Somebody couldn’t resist eating the wonderful chocolate it contained… hmmm, I wonder who that was??
The box on the top left contains an array of stamped notecards with matching envelopes. The sunny boy on the bottom left did have skittles. Someone ate those too…
The last little package has watercolour paper in it, which is just perfect – I LOVE to watercolour. Well, I like to practice watercolouring! My Secret Sister has hit all my weaknesses in this one gift. I can’t wait to meet her.
Until next time, happy stamping!

I am part of an online group of stampers (ESAD: Extra Special Aussie/NZ Demonstrators) who are hosting their second round of “Secret Sister”. This is the group that held the Blog Hop from my most recent post. Last round I was privileged to receive the beautiful work of Simone Bartrum. Click on her name for her website – she is wonderfully talented.
This time (the round is from Sept-Dec) I wont’ find out who my Secret Sister is until the end of Dec. Which is exciting because she has been sending me such gorgeous work of which I would like to share. Please remember this is not my work, and I don’t know the name of the wonderful person behind it all – yet.
Firstly, here are some lovely cards I received from my SS2. In no particular order:

Cardstock: Bravo Burgundy, Sage Shadow (which I LOVE, but am challenged on using!) and So Saffron

My SS has also stamped the leaf spray image from Great Friend on DSP from Windsor Knot.

This next card I received this week – isn’t it just gorgeous? I love the clean lines and the simplicity of layout and the Geisha Girl punch art!
It is in Rose Red and Whisper White with Old Olive ink and the DSP is Raspberry Tart. The “Hello” is from Outlined for Fun, and the leaf spray comes from Fresh Cuts.
